On his first day at the Manchester United office, Mourinho was shown round Carrington by Bobby Charlton and Ed Woodward.

New Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho took in the clubs training ground on Monday, MAY 30.

After months of speculations, Mourinho was announced as the new Manchester United coach replacing Louis van Gaal who was sacked just after winning the FA Cup.


On his first day at the Manchester United office, the Portuguese coach was shown round the facilities by club legend, Bobby Charlton and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

On his first day in office, the 53-year-old manager oversaw the contract extension of young striker Marcus Rashford and promising defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson.

Veteran midfielder Michael Carrick has also been offered a one-year deal to remain in his squad.


Mourinho according to Daily Mail, met Charlton on the edge of the Carrington car park and the pair greeted each other warmly.

Charlton according to reports, had wanted club hero, Ryan Giggs to take over from Van Gaal instead of Mourinho.

As he settles in his new job, Mourinho along with Woodward will kick off their move in the transfer window.


The coach is interested in Roma defender Kostas Manolas and Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.

Nemanja Matic, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are also targets.
